Caritas K’s and Casuals for Compassion

Tenison Woods College will hold its first ever Caritas K’s and Casuals for Compassion event on Thursday 11 April. Students will be involved in an all-day walk ‘relay style’ around the College oval from 9.00am-3.00pm. Parents and friends will be encouraged to join us to walk at a time that suits them during the day. The Caritas K’s event highlights the amount of walking done in developing countries for school, water, food to access health etc…

  • Year 3-12 classes will be doing laps of the the College oval with at least 2 students from each class walking at all times.
  • Reception-Year 2 classes will attend as a class at suitable times during the day.
  • Staff and students are encouraged to seek donations/or sponsorship either in person or online. We would be encouraging online as this is an easy way to share your fundraising page and collect donations for Caritas and is tax deductible.
  1. Go to this link to register
  2. Join the Group (by clicking the tab that says ‘Join This Group’)
  3. Share your page with others so they can donate to your page OR they can donate by searching for your name
  4. Students can also bring in cash donations if people have donated in that way.

See here for the poster advertising this event.

Stations of the Cross

Stations of the Cross is a prayerful pilgrimage-type commemoration of the story of the events of Good Friday – Jesus’ last day. Senior School students led a beautiful contemporary prayer on Friday last week and the Junior School students will be reenacting the Stations of the Cross at St Paul’s Church on Friday 29 March at 6:15pm. Please advise Rebecca Higgins higgr@tenison.catholic.edu.au  if your child/children would like to be involved. All families and friends are encouraged to join us for both of these dates.

Palm Sunday – Family Mass

This year, Palm Sunday is celebrated on 14 April, which the second Sunday of the month. Family Mass is normally celebrated on the fourth Sunday, however due to the school holidays we will have it on the Palm Sunday this year. Please keep this date free as we would like to see as many children there as possible.

Parish Mass

Mass is celebrated in the Tenison Woods College Chapel every Thursday at 9.00am during term time. All members of the community are invited to attend. Each week the mass is attended and led by a different year level.

The roster for the term is:

  • Week 8 – Thursday 21 March – Year 11
  • Week 9 – Thursday 28 March – Year 10 (please note the changed date)
  • Week 10 – Thursday 4 April – Year 9 (please note the changed date)
  • Week 11 – Thursday 11 April – Year 12
